Liam Neeson admits Taken franchise has run its course

The first Taken was an experience. Somehow all of the stars aligned and made the whole thing so badass, that we’re getting a sequel. Admittedly the sequel has an intriguing premise (bad guys are angry and Neeson for being so badass that they take the fight to him) but if Taken 2 does well, will there be even more Takens? Tooks? The Takenings? Well, Liam Neeson has serious doubts about that. In speaking with Empire, Neeson had this to say about the already ridiculous nature of the Taken franchise:

“I don’t see it…I don’t think it’s going to happen. I really don’t. I can’t see a possible scenario where audiences wouldn’t go, ‘Oh, come on…! She’s taken again?'”

And just look at the man. He looks so tired. Right now I’m still willing to believe that Neeson is a bonafide badass despite being like a billion years old, but maybe now he can move on to a new franchise of films since even he believes that Taken has gone on far longer than it needed. Might I suggest Given? It’s my version of Taken, except it’s an overblown advertisment for Goodwill.
