Liam Neeson, a very cool man best known for growling into phones, wil bring his skill-set to Sony’s Men in Black spinoff.

According to The Wrap, he’ll play the head of London’s Men in Black division. That sounds believable enough. Will he work with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson to fight off an international alien scourge? Will he be a secret alien trying to overthrow Earth from the inside out? Will he have some loved one abducted by aliens that he needs the others’ help to save? We don’t know, yet. Let’s hope it’s not some one-off cameo, though. The man does have a presence to him that can elevate a film. Say whatever you want about Taken, but he took a basic kidnapped daughter action movie and hurled it into the public consciousness off the power of his performance. It was so good, in fact, it even earned the man a free lunch.

What we do know about the new Men in Black, though, is that Hemsworth and Thompson will lead as two New York agents that will defend the world from hostile aliens while helping friendly ones to blend in. It’s poised to move the series in a broader direction while still acknowledging the characters and events that took place before.

The film is planned to release on June 14, 2019.
