List of theaters showing Dark Knight Rises prologue

0

The first footage from The Dark Knight Rises will be out in North America on December 16th and the UK on December 21st, attached to Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. It will only be at theaters that have 70mm IMAX projectors, however. If you were wondering which theaters that might be, there’s now an official list.

There’s been lots of speculation about what the six-minute prologue will feature, but nothing certain yet. If it’s anything like the prologue for The Dark Knight, one can assume that we’ll be getting introduced to Bane.

We have a statement from Christopher Nolan and the full list of theaters after the jump. If there’s no 70mm IMAX in your area, there-there. It’s okay — no tears. A new Dark Knight Rises trailer will be attached to Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Our experience on The Dark Knight shooting and projecting IMAX 15 perf 65mm/70mm film was inspiring. The immersive quality of the image goes beyond any other filmmaking tool available, and in revisiting Gotham, we were determined to shoot even more of the movie in this unique format. Giving the fans an early look at an IMAX sequence is a great way to draw attention to what I believe will be an incredible way to experience our story when it comes out next summer. — Christopher Nolan
