Live-action short film does the first board of Donkey Kong

The first board of Donkey Kong is easily recognizable. It may be on the same iconic level as the Pac-Man maze and 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. It’s the stuff of playgrounds, construction sites, and obstacle courses, and Banks has made a short film that recreates the perils of that board.

In case you were wondering how this was done, here’s a behind-the-scenes video for Donkey Kong Classic:

For what it is, this isn’t all that bad. Sure, Banks goes overboard with mentioning “Banks” everywhere and often–in case you didn’t catch it everywhere else, here it is again–but it’s an okay recreation of the board and a decent proof of concept… with a dubstep breakdown. Pobody’s nerfect.

I’d like to see an actual scaffold and girder version of this Donkey Kong board done in real life. It’s been done before, but I’d like to see it done again in absolute defiance of common sense and OSHA standards.
