Lizzie McGuire revival could happen

2018 seems to be the year for old shows making comebacks and beloved Disney movies getting remakes. Hilary Duff, who played the popular Disney Channel teen in Lizzie McGuire, revealed to On Air With Ryan Seacrest that a remake of the TV series could happen. Let the nostalgic feels commence! The series originally ran from 2001-2004 and was a huge hit in the early 2000s. I remember watching this show religiously and even saw The Lizzie McGuire Movie in theaters. I still like to go back and watch it even today completely unironically.

When the now 31-year-old actress spoke to On Air With Ryan Seacrest and other outlets, she said that while talks are indeed happening fans should not get their hopes up just yet. Nothing has actually been confirmed by Disney nor Duff herself, for now. She even reflected back on how important her character was for girls who were growing up right alongside Lizzie. They even were experiencing some of the same things she did on the show. It made it so relatable, which Hilary Duff addressed, saying “I mean I love her so much, I think she was so important to girls at an important time in their life. If she could be important to them again at this age, I think that would be amazing.”

I hope we do see this come back and see Lizzie maybe in her college years or post-grad years. When Gilmore Girls came back it did quite well on Netflix and drew in fans both new and old. I am sure the same would happen with a revival of this show and can suck in an entire generation of new fans. Right now we just have to wait and hope something comes out of these talks and we get a confirmation in 2019.
