Luhrman’s Gatsby might be shot in 3D?

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Baz Luhrman announced that he’d like to shoot his adaptation of The Great Gatsby entirely in 3D. While he hasn’t made a decision about the format, he has workshopped scenes from his upcoming adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Principal photography starts this year, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Carie Mulligan. It is slated for release next year.

Personally, I’m alright with 3D. And I’m very alright with actual filmmakers using 3D in their films (Scorsese’s upcoming The Invention of Hugo Cabret is being shot in 3D). I’m just against Disney forcing a royalty charge for their technology. But who cares what I think. What do you readers have to say?
