Marion Cotillard joins Assassin’s Creed

Marion Cotillard is set to join Michael Fassbender in the Assassin’s Creed movie, according to a Deadline exclusive. We’ve heard talks and rumours about a live-action adaptation of the best-selling Ubisoft franchise for years now, and the pieces are finally falling into place. With Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders) in the director’s chair, and two of the best actors working in Hollywood today, one could be excused to finally get excited about the project.

Who Cotillard, and Fassbender, will play has yet to be revealed, but they are both set to return should the movie spawn any sequels. Production will begin later this year, with a scheduled release in December, 2016. Kurzel also directed Macbeth, starring Cotillard and Fassbender in the leading roles, so this is an all-out reunion for the three of them.

Let’s just hope neither of them gets their face melted off
