Mary and the Witch’s Flower returns to theatres

It looks like Mary and the Witch’s Flower is getting all of the love it deserves.

After premiering in North America for a one night event on January 18th, GKIDS is bringing the little witch that isn’t Kiki to the big screen for an encore appearance. Mary and the Witch’s Flower will return to theatres on Saturday, February 24th with its English dub as well as on Monday, February 26th in Japanese with English subtitles. Along with the announcement, GKIDS also stated that the film earned $1.1 million for the event back in January, making Mary the highest grossing theatrical release for GKIDS.

It’s nice to see an anime feature film do well here in the states. Even if it was just a one-day event, the fact that fan demand has led to encore screenings is a good sign for more anime features coming on over here. Plus hey, the movie’s pretty dang good, so that’s a plus too.

Between this and Digimon Adventure tri movies screening over 2018, it’s a good time to be an anime fan in America.
