Men’s Rights Activists claim tiny victory over Star Wars: The Force Awakens, feminists, SJWs

Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to dominate the box office. As of this writing, the film has earned more than $740 million in the US alone. When you add the international box office to that, the film has made a staggering $1.5 billion in less than three weeks.

Of course, that’s a paltry sum when you consider the brave stand that the men’s rights activists at Return of Kings have taken against the movie. They’ve refused to see the film, crippling its total gross across the globe.

You see, the MRA complaint isn’t that The Force Awakens is too much like A New Hope and the original trilogy. No, to some MRAs, The Force Awakens is full of icky feminist and SJW propaganda what with its strong female protagonist and multiracial cast. (You may recall that the MRAs at Return of Kings had similar juvenile complaints about Mad Max: Fury Road.)

The team at Return of Kings estimates that because of its ongoing crusade against feminists and SJWs, it has caused The Force Awakens to lose $4.2 million in ticket revenue. They arrived at this number by using an informal 565-person poll on Twitter.

In essence, Return of Kings did some math and then shoved a cucumber wrapped in foil down their tightest jeans and then made up bigger numbers to make themselves appear manlier than they really are.

As the AV Club notes, a report at Forbes estimated the Return of Kings impact to be much smaller than advertised. The impact was barely average. Measly and inadequate really, when you think about it, though perhaps if you shave a few numbers around the poll it will appear much larger when fully extrapolated and viewed from the right angle.

The Force Awakens is now in theaters. Also, penis joke.
