Mendes pretty darn sure he’s coming back to Bond

Back in the day Bond films rocked the same director pretty often. John Glen directed five, four of which were back to back. However, the trend stopped in the modern era with no director doing Bond films back to back and only one director repeating. Sam Mendes is going to change that… probably.

The director was on the fence due to previous plans that had the next two Bond films’ plot tied together, and thus his schedule booked for the next four years, but with that idea scrapped and his involvement in the next film’s story news has come that he is 75 percent sure he’s going to do it. He’s just waiting for a finished script so he can sign on the dotted line with confidence.

After Skyfall‘s $1.1 billion dollar gross and its general awesomeness all around I think the return of Mendes is something we can all agree is a good thing. The film should have been nominated for a Best Picture award so Mendes getting a second chance to make the Academy recognize Bond would be amazing.
