The connections between Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim and Metal Gear Solid go far deeper than that. For Pacific Rim’s Japanese poster, Guillermo Del Toro personally asked Yoji Shinkawa (artist for both Metal Gear Solid and Z.O.E.) to whip up something.
And the magnificent result is in the gallery below. Shinkawa’s distinctive inking, and sharper edges, may make Pacific Rim look more like a certain depressing as all get out Anime or something, but WOW does it work wonders. I’m willing to scrounge the internet for this beauty. However, for a lucky few, Regal Cinemas is going to be giving some away at their screenings between July 12-14! So if you get one, I hate you but please marry me.
