It seems that art is imitating life for Michael B. Jordan and Creed. In a recent novel published by Creed producer Irwin Winkler (also responsible for the original Rocky series), the man states that he promised Jordan the chance to direct the upcoming Creed 3. While far from an official endorsement, it looks like Jordan’s rise to prominence will be mimicking that of his on-screen character.
As discovered by Men’s Health Magazine, Winkler wrote in the book A Life in Movies: Stories From 50 Years in Hollywood, “Last year in a conversation with our Creed star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct Creed 3.” Again, far from a confirmation, but the star was recently seen hinting at the possibility for a sequel during the world premiere of Just Mercy.
After years of hard work and starring in some critically and financially successful films, Jordan deserves the chance. He’s consistently putting out good performances (Fant4stic aside), so why not give him the chance to flex his directorial side?
