Michael Douglas to star in Last Vegas

Had enough Hangover style movies? Not until you’ve seen old people hit up the strip! Michael Douglas will be starring in Last Vegas, a film depicting an older man who, before marrying a girl half his age, decides to throw a crazy bachelor party in Vegas with some childhood friends. Tensions rise between Douglas and another character, both of whom loved the same woman in their teenage years.

While the movie has a screenplay by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love) and will be directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure), you can probably count me out of seeing it. I’m predicting that it will either be some elderly look back on the golden years, or a geriatric version of The Hangover. Neither of these options seem really appealing to me, but it’s good to see Douglas still up and at it, especially after his recent battle with cancer. The film is scheduled to begin filming in September, so we can likely expect a 2013 release.
