OH INDEED!

Michael K. Williams, famous for portraying Omar on The Wire, Chalky White on Broadwalk Empire and a professor who really wants to know what happened with Legos on Community, has signed on to portray Wu-Tang Clan founding member Russell Jones a.k.a. Ol’ Dirty Bastard a.k.a. Big Baby Jesus a.k.a. Osirus a.k.a. Dirt McGirt in a biopic titled Dirty White Boy.

Dirty White Boy will follow later years of Dirt Dog’s career and his involvement with a 22 year old suburbanite VH1 employee who somehow ended up befriending the troubled rapper and becoming his manager. It’s kinda like Almost Famous, except with more food stamps and limousines. The script was written by Brent Hoff, a coworker of the VH1 employee turned manager and the film will be directed by first time director Joaquin Baca-Asay, who’s previous DP work included We Own the Night and Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” video.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go and recite the lyrics to Shimmy Shimmy Ya all day. How I’ve managed to remember every single lyric (including the backwards parts) after all these years is quite the feat.
