Monty Python members reunite for alien comedy

According to Variety, the Pythons are getting back together for a new project. Titled Absolutely Anything, it is a science fiction comedy about an Earth man who gets unlimited power granted to him by powerful aliens and proceeds to screw things up on a grand scale. There is also a dog who talks, voiced by Robin Williams, because why not.

Python Terry Jones is directing, as well as voicing the aliens alongside John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin. Producers are still hoping to sign remaining Python Eric Idle, who is currently not part of the project. The film will be mixture of CGI and live-action, but I’m hoping the aliens’ faces still look like the actors.

Terry Jones says, “It’s not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility.” With a script by Jones and Gavin Scott and Life of Brian producer Mike Medavoy on board, all that’s missing from Absolutely Anything is Idle and the late Graham Chapman, the latter ensuring that a little something will be missing no matter what. Now I’m sad and feel like watching some old skits.
