By Sony continued to ride the wave of Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s success this week by announcing a Morbius spin-off is on its way, creating a trilogy of spin-offs with the previously announced Venom and Silver & Black films.
The Living Vampire’s big screen debut will be written by the writing duo of Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, whose screenwriting credits include The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, and rewrites for the Power Rangers reboot. Sharpless and Sazama aren’t strangers to vampires, either, as their Hollywood debut was 2014’s Dracula Untold.
While that wasn’t received well, Morbius offers decades of source material to derive from. And who said vampires were getting too long in the tooth?
