The great thing about Sherlock Holmes, and one of the reasons that he is so popular, is that you can take his logical deduction crime solving and place it in almost any scenario with great success. What often gets lost in that is the man, though (I’m looking at you RDJ films). Mr. Holmes is looking to fix that a bit by telling the story of a case of a very old Sherlock Holmes.
Of course the casting is perfect and the fact that this is focusing more on character is very enticing considering most of the current Holmes adaptations leave that behind in favor of him being an anti-social lunatic. Don’t get me wrong, I love Sherlock, but I would like a take on the character that’s a bit less abrasive now and then.
