Recently, the film industry has gone into a 3D frenzy, making 3D films that don’t necessarily call for 3D. On the other end, the industry has also been suffering from a lack of adult comedy dramas dealing with serious subject matter. Paul Mazursky, director of such 70’s classics as Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and Harry & Tonto has the cure for what ails us. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Mazursky proposes the idea of a remake of Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice in 3D. He stated:

“The whole business has changed into I would say more garbage; some of it makes a lot of money and some doesn’t. But they still make a lot of good movies, too. They want to remake “Bob and Carol,” and I said, if you give me a lot of money upfront and you do the orgy in 3D, I’d be interested. It happened twice by the studios. Several years ago, they were talking about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, and another couple, but they broke up, so who knows who now?”

Now personally, I’ve never seen Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (god that’s a lot of ampersands) because when that movie first came out, I was swimming in my fathers pre-pubescent balls. From what I gather, the film is about two couples that decide to “swing” in an effort to spice up their love lives. I imagine what ensues is a lot of Natalie Wood stares, Elliot Gould going “HURRR”, and a serious discussion about monogamy. The prospect of a 3D orgy sounds ridiculous, but I’d be lying to myself if I said I wouldn’t watch this.

Also, Natalie Wood was a stone cold fox.
