New Hobbit TV spot and Entertainment Weekly covers

For some reason it hasn’t quite dawned on me that I’ll be seeing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey next week at midnight. The original Lord of the Rings Trilogy came out when I was in college, and I remember going to the midnight shows for each one as a nice reprieve from finals. I’m sure some of that feeling will come back once I’m in line eating take-out with friends before the movie. I may even shed a single tear.

Anyways, there’s a new Hobbit TV spot above, and we also have the four collector’s edition covers for the new Entertainment Weekly coming out tomorrow. The new issue will feature a fist look at the next Hobbit film, The Desolation of Smaug. (I would have proposed The Burnination of Smaug as a subtitle, but that’s just me.)

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey comes out December 14th, along with a nine-minute Star Trek Into Darkness prologue (a trailer for non-IMAX screenings) and previews for Man of Steel, The Wolverine, and Pacific Rim. Check out the Entertainment Weekly covers in the gallery, and keep an eye out for our Hobbit review next week.
