By We’re getting ever closer to the March 23rd release of Gary Ross’ much anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel, The Hunger Games, which means the movie’s publicity machine is starting to build up a head of steam. Following a pretty well-received second trailer, we now have a clip of the fair toxophilite Katniss demonstrating her talents for an assembly of dignitaries, who soon learn the perils of not paying attention to a woman wielding a bow and arrow.
The clip has an effective dystopian atmosphere to it, aided by a score that sounds like wind chimes playing The Exorcist and star Jennifer Lawrence looking particularly fearsome on the shooty end of Katniss’ bow. Plus there’s a chap with a particularly devilish beard, so he’s definitely going to be trouble. I don’t know much about the books, but despite some early wobbles on the marketing front, this looks like it could be a pretty enjoyable start to what could be an incredible year of blockbusters.
