By The Bring Back MST3K Kickstarter is continuing to be successful. Joel Hodson has raised more than $3.4 million with 10 days to go, which means that six episodes of the new Mystery Science Theater 3000 will be made. If they hit the next mark of $4.4 million, that’s nine episodes. (A full 12-episode season is looking like a stretch at $5.5 million.)
Most of the new cast was announced last week, but now they’ve made the full cast official, with Patton Oswalt signed on as the new henchman. That means the cast is as follows:
- Jonah Ray is The New Host
- Felicia Day is Kinga Forrester, The New Mad
- Patton Oswalt is TV’s Son of TV’s Frank (yes, that is the actual character name, it was Oswalt’s idea)
- Baron Vaughn is The New Tom Servo
- Hampton Yount is The New Crow
No, not that Crow.
Oswalt is a big MST3K fan, so he’ll fit right in. In fact, the most recent Kickstarter update features the following image of Oswalt being asked to join:
