New Oldboy trailer comes complete with images

We have another Oldboy remake trailer here and its not showing us too much new, but it’s green band so it has way less blood. While Alec is most likely correct in thinking the film is almost totally pointless I can’t help but want to see Josh Brolin be a badass and I think Spike Lee to lend something new to the story. Who knows maybe they’ll veer wildly in a different direction with it and warrant the remake.

However, they veer the theatrical release won’t be as good as the three hour director’s cut according to Brolin. He was interviewed by The L.A. Times and admitted he wasn’t as hot on the theatrical version: “‘I do have opinions, but it’s better to bite my tongue,’ he said when asked what he thought of the finished film. (The actor says he was more enamored with Lee’s earlier three-hour director’s cut that was both quieter and filled with more character-centric moments.)”

Innnnteresting. Since it’s a Spike Lee movie I’m sure we’ll be seeing the director’s cut on the Blu-ray, but it should be noted that Brolin doesn’t say the theatrical cut is bad, just that the director’s cut is better.
