New Peanuts trailer further confuses us

The Peanuts Movie confuses the heck out of me. From the animation style and general feeling of the early trailers it seemed like 20th Century Fox might actually be honing in on what made the strip and TV specials great. As we’ve seen more though that message got mixed.

This new trailer doesn’t do anything to help that. The animation looks incredible and there’s still that feeling that they’ll capture the uniqueness of the strip, but then Charlie Brown busts out a dance to a modern pop song and you start getting Smurf feelings. It’s great to update this stuff, but Peanuts is all about heart and you can very easily lose that by trying to make a childrens movie.
