By Another poster of the anticipated WWII scrawny-guy-turned-super-soldier up front as Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Chris Evans), accompanied by Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Col. Phillips (Tommy Lee Jones) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) and Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) on either side. As you can see, he’s quite badass; Not only does he have his awesome shield, but he doesn’t even seem fazed by the fact that Red Skull is right behind him. I posted two posters; one the newest official poster (left) and one a photoshop edit that I did (right), because I’m a design snob.
The plot for Captain America for all those who don’t grasp the concept yet:
After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers for a new top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero devoted to defending American ideals.
Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger, directed by Joe Johnston, comes out July 22. Joe Johnston was also responsible for Jumanji, The Rocketeer and Jurassic Park III (not his shining moment). The screenplay was written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Life & Death of Peter Sellers, You Kill Me and the three Chronicles of Narnia movies). Joss Whedon also did some additional writing on the film, so that’s something to look forward to.
