By I love being really, truly creeped out, and I’m talking turn-off-the-TV unease here, more than almost anything in the entire world. Games like Dead Space and Silent Hill have that perfect psychological horror/atmosphere blend that makes me want to turn on the lights and lock all the doors. Unfortunately there aren’t many movies that elicit such a reaction. However, Insidious is one of those films. Sitting in that dark theater watching that film was one of the best experiences of my year (at one point, I literally yelped, “Nope!”), and as such has locked Insidious into my top five films of the year so far. Imagine my delight to find out it’s on DVD and Blu-ray today, along with another of my top five, The Lincoln Lawyer.
There’s a lot of other releases this week as well, but nothing really all that noteworthy sadly. Do yourselves a favor and check out Insidious and The Lincoln Lawyer, I think you’ll be glad you did.
