New Releases, week of 02/28/2012: “Hugo-a-go-go” edition

Hugo is out on Blu-ray today, just two days after it won the Oscars for Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography! Buy it! It’s reallllllllllllllllly good! Buy it.

There’s not  lot of other big releases, BUT the awesome Israeli horror film Rabies, the newest DC animated film Justice League: Doom, and Johnny English Reborn are out, so those are three safe-ish bets! Also, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic — The Friendship Express is out for all you bronies out there.

Not much for re-releases today, but 1945 film noir Scarlet Street is out on DVD and Blu-ray and Vanya on 42nd Street gets the Criterion treatment!
