New Releases, week of 10/5/13: Mermaid Tattoo Edition

You ever feel like the stars align just for you? That’s what I’m feeling with the home video releases this week since almost everything pertains to my interests. First of all, The Little Mermaid (otherwise known as the best Disney film of all time) is re-releasing in the Diamond Edition collection. Secondly, The Wizard of Oz (otherwise known as the best wizard movie of all time) is getting a 75th Anniversary Edition. And finally, the new to home video releases this week include The Croods and This is the End. Both of which I really loved (as pointed out in my reviews), with This is the End even in the running to be my favorite film of 2013. 

Other notable releases include television shows I like. The eighth season of How I Met Your Mother, New Girl‘s second season, Hell’s Kitchen‘s tenth season, Glee‘s fourth season, and finally 10 Minute Solution: Butt Lift. There’s also one show I haven’t seen in a long time. Back when Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers ruled Fox Kids, there were plenty of notable copycats of that formula (most of which were released by Saban like Big Bad Beetleborgs, VR Troopers, and The Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog), but none of them were as sad as Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills. 

Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills was produced by DiC (a popular company that also produced shows like Captain Planet and the English version of Sailor Moon) in an attempt to gain MMPR’s fanbase. But that plan soon failed as the low budgeted show didn’t have the Japanese content its competitor had. Oh well, at least you can by it on DVD now.
