New Releases, week of 12/20/2011: “Never forget…”

0

I see at least one movie a week, so when I see a trailer week in and week out, it either really sticks with me or I want to kill it with fire. Colombiana had a pretty slick trailer, but they beat the phrase “Never forget where you came from,” into my brain and everyone else’s. When I finally saw the movie, I enjoyed it and also enjoyed the fact that the phrase didn’t not pop up every five minutes as I feared it might

If you couldn’t tell, Colombiana is out today. It’s joined by the adorable Dolphin Tale, the enchanting, charming Midnight in Paris, the disappointing remake of Straw Dogs, the familial MMA of Warrior, and Glee: The Concert Movie, which I really couldn’t find a descriptor for. I blame being like five episodes behind at this point. Gosh and golly gee, it seems like a massive undertaking to catch up at this point.

The only re-release out this week is the original, classic adaptation of Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms, so if you have one of those book nerds like Hubert in your family, you can make their Christmas a little nerdier.

It seems a little odd that such a small amount of films have been released the week before Christmas. Maybe they busted their collective nuts early this year. Anyways, the full list of releases is below. Lemme know what you’re picking up this week and if there’s anything I didn’t mention that is worth checking out!
