New Releases, week of 12/21/13: The Lone D Edition

This week’s home video releases involve a bunch of movies we regrettably did not get to review here on Flixist. First off there’s a movie only Liz saw apparently since it tanked so bad, The Lone Ranger. Secondly, there’re two movies I’m most anticipating: Prisoners and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints. Thirdly, there’re smaller films that only sort of tanked, Elysium, Kick-Ass 2 (which is so awful no one should watch it), and One Direction: This is Us. 

Lastly, there’s a film called Line of Duty. It’s a film set filmed and set in my hometown (San Antonio, Texas) and was wonderfully titled Mission Park (due to the Spanish missions here in San Antonio) before its generic title change (as its Facebook page admits to changing the title to appeal to a wider audience). It’s sad, but now that the movie is out, I hope it’s good enough for that wider audience. It would’ve been fantastic as a local film, but now it may be setting itself up for failure.
