By Stoker is finally out. I’m happy to see it finally hit home video because it had a limited run in theaters and its been a film I’ve wanted to see for awhile. Nicole Kidman’s in it, and she’s one of my boos. I could go as far to say that I’m “stoked” for it. Haha, I’m comedy. Other new things hitting this week are 21 & Over, the party film I didn’t like but might be better suited for the home format, Jack the Giant Slayer, another average film better suited to watch in bits and pieces while you check your electronic mail, Superman Unbound, the DC direct to video animated film coinciding with Man of Steel’s big premiere, and finally American Mary, a horror film I definitely want to see.
On the re-release front, we have a few additions to the Criterion Collection (Marketa Lazarova, Things to Come, and Safety Last!) but I won’t pretend that I’ve seen them. As for the other re-releases, I’m not too familiar with them either but Retreat, Hell! is one of the greatest film titles of all time.
…oh and Movie 43 is a thing on DVD now in case you were wondering or whatever.
