By With the first teaser expected to be attached to Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part Two this Friday, a new set of images and posters from Guy Richie’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows has been released, revealing quizzical looks, goggles, marriage and explosions. In other words, all the ingredients of a great night out.
Although the posters are as shoddily Photoshopped as has come to be expected and the images don’t exactly reveal much in terms of plot – unless Moriarty’s cunning plan is to send five gentlemen flying through the air, which is admittedly pretty dastardly – the first Sherlock was unexpectedly entertaining enough that the prospect of returning to Richie’s take on the Holmes story and his, erm, distinctive vision of Victorian London is more than enough to start getting excited about – especially with the excellent Jared Harris, aka Lane Pryce from Mad Men, added to the cast as the Napoleon of crime himself. Fingers crossed for a bit more real detective work this time around, but this is one of 2011’s blockbusters that I’m most looking forward to, opening on December 16th. The game, as they say, is afoot!
