New trailer for The Green Inferno shows lots and lots of promise

I’ve been anticipating Eli Roth’s upcoming cannibal film, The Green Inferno, since it was announced. As a fan (if that’s the right word) of the 1980 classic (definitely the wrong word) Cannibal Holocaust, I wanted to see what a modern day vision of that lost genre could be. After hearing a bit about the production, I knew that it was going to be something, even if it wasn’t going to be good.

Yesterday, a friend sent me a text letting me know that there was a new trailer out. She ended the message with “Check dat shit out.” That seemed like pretty serious praise, so I looked it up as soon as I could. And you know what? It looks freaking awesome. The CG plane crashing stuff is not all that impressive, but basically everything around that is totally crazy (in the best possible way). Fortunately, much of the intensity and action is hinted at rather than explicitly shown, so there is going to be plenty of new (and undoubtedly violent) stuff for everyone to see come its September 5th release. I’m very, very excited.

Seriously, y’all: Check dat shit out.
