Newest San Andreas trailer lays it on thick

San Andreas looks like the best kind of cheese. A disaster blockbuster that would’ve been more acceptable twenty years ago as landmarks get destroyed by tidal waves, a too serious tone sets the awkward mood, and all while a slow cover of “California Dreamin” plays in the background. I just can’t believe this is a trailer for a film releasing later this year. 

But as much as I make fun of it, it might just surprise us. It’s got a hell of a cast with Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Paul Giamatti, and Alexandra Daddario. You just never know with these kinds of films. San Andreas shakes down theaters May 29th.
