No tricks, the Loki trailer looks like fun

Yesterday, Disney unloaded an insane amount of content announcements during their annual year-end Investor’s Day event, mostly focused on their money printers in Star Wars and the MCU. Amidst the flood of new movie and series reveals comes one around everyone’s favorite jokester diety, Loki.

Brother of Thor, adopted son of Odin, and the Hulk’s favorite puny god, Loki has long been an MCU fan favorite throughout his numerous film appearances. After the events of Endgame, in which Loki died in the beginning, only to then teleport with the tesseract when the Avengers went back in time, thereby creating a new branch of an alternate reality in which he disappears and we as viewers kind of forgot about at the time because at the end of the movie Cap finally says “Avengers, assemble” and nothing else mattered. Shout out to time travel and its impossible implications for retcon purposes.

Anyway, Disney released a trailer for its show, along with a premiere date set for May of next year. Described as a crime thriller, the trailer looks to pit Loki against the Time Variance Authority–which we’re introduced to by a mustachioed Owen Wilson– replete with the repartee we’ve become well accustomed to by Loki, along with quite a bit of action.
