Next up in the long line of turning random properties into movies because sometimes they make money, is Space Invaders. Back when Warner Bros first acquired the rights for a movie adaptation of the Taito arcade game, they tried to make a movie happen. But it’s been in a development hell for over four years now. For better or worse, it’s taking a step forward.
Akiva Goldsman (Hancock, Winter’s Tale) has signed on to produce the film. There’s no indication of whether he’ll write or direct, or what WB plans to do with the film, but the idea is out there. So I guess all we can do until there’s more information is drop down, increase speed, and reverse direction.[via The Wrap]
