NYAFF 2012: Actor Choi Min-sik’s reception speech

[For the month of July, we will be covering the New York Asian Film Festival and the (also New York-based) Japan Cuts Film Festival, which together form one of the largest showcases of Asian cinema in the world. For our NYAFF coverage, head over here. For Japan Cuts, here.]

Even though Five Fingers of Death and The Swift Knight director Chung Chang-Wha is an interesting guy, I know that more of you are probably curious what sex icon Choi Min-sik is like when he’s not hitting people in the face with hammers. Well, now you can, because right up there is a video of him saying words that make absolutely no sense to me. I really need to learn Korean. If someone knows how to beam the Korean language into my brain, that would be pretty cool.

Also, if anyone would like to buy me a tripod, feel free, because until that happens there’s only so much I can do to stop the shaky cam from happening. Sorry about that. Also, people were bumping into me. Jerks.

Below you will find the trailer that Subway Cinema put together for Choi Min-sik. I filmed the TV screen it played on, so it doesn’t look so good, but I did get a pretty good reaction shot of him when a particular thing plays. I don’t know why he reacted the way he did, but it was funny.
