NYAFF 2012: Actress Michelle Chen’s reception speech

[For the month of July, we will be covering the New York Asian Film Festival and the (also New York-based) Japan Cuts Film Festival, which together form one of the largest showcases of Asian cinema in the world. For our NYAFF coverage, head over here. For Japan Cuts, here.]

Giddens Ko may have been the first NYAFF guest to speak in English, but Michelle Chen was the first (and possibly only) one to speak English with real clarity. Like Ko, Chen was at the festival promoting the excellent You Are the Apple of My Eye, and she spoke after him at the Taiwanese reception. She’s kinda cute, don’t you think? I don’t feel that the “babes” tag is appropriate, because it’s cuteness more than “hotness,” but whatever. Also, she’s 29. Seriously. What is it with Asian females and not aging? She looks like she’s 18 (at the oldest).

Anyways, this one probably has the most shakes because there were photographers everywhere, and my prime location was apparently in all of their ways. So I did my best to keep it still, but it’s definitely a bit jerkier than I would have liked. As always, feel free to buy me a tripod if you want to complain.
