NYC: Metrograph showing Willy Wonka in 35mm Labor Day weekend

0

If you live in New York City and can’t get into the AMC screenings of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory this weekend, you may still get to see the movie on the big screen in the next few days. Metrograph (one of my favorite indie theaters in the city) will be showing Willy Wonka in 35mm on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You can reserve seats and buy tickets by clicking here.

On a related note, the candy mosaic portrait of Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka seen above is the work of Jason Mecier. It can be seen in-person at Giddy Candy located in the Castro District in San Francisco, CA. Check out an embiggened version of it below.

As we head into the holiday weekend, just remember: “A little nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest men.” Women, too.
