NYC: Watch animated shorts and help Sandy victims tonight

Tonight in New York City, you can watch some great animated shorts and help make a difference for people whose lives have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. The Hurricane Sandy Relief Benefit takes place at 7:00pm at the Brooklyn Music School: 126 St. Felix St, Brooklyn, NY 11217. Admission is $10 and all of the proceeds will go to Sandy relief efforts.

The event was put together by the New York Film/Video Council (NYFVC) and Rooftop Films, and will showcase the Rauch Brothers’s work for StoryCorps. StoryCorps is a non-profit which records and preserves the memories and stories of Americans from all walks of life.

Though not required, people can also bring item donations to the event. Please note the following list:

ITEMS NEEDED (NO clothing needed): flashlights, aaa batteries, gallon ziplock bags, brooms, flat shovels, mops, masks and gloves, any sort of baby/toddler food and formula, duct and scotch tape, deodorant, tampons, soap, can openers
