One of 2011’s best documentaries was The Interrupters. Directed by Steve James (Hoop Dreams), the film follows Chicago violence interrupters Ameena Matthews, Cobe Williams, and Eddie Bocanegra as they try to reduce the violence in their communities.

Tonight there’s an online social screening of The Interrupters starting at 8:30pm EST. While the film streams, there will also be a live chat with Matthews, Williams, Bocanegra, James, and co-producer Alex Kotlowitz. More information about the social screening can be found here.

As we mentioned last week, you can now watch the whole film online thanks to Frontline, who themselves have been doing exceptional documentaries and documentary journalism for almost three decades.
