Original Darth Vader costume going up for auction

Got some spare cash lying around? Have an undying love for the dark side of the Force? Wish you could pretend you were a crippled spiritual prodigy trapped in an imposing yet limiting life support armor?

Then you should make sure to visit Christie’s auction house in London on November 25, as Speakeasy reports that the original Darth Vader costume from The Empire Strikes Back will be made available for purchase. It comes from an anonymous private collector in America, who I assume was issued some sort of ultimatum by his wife to “get rid of that crazy suit, it’s scaring the baby.”

The costume is expected to sell for somewhere between 160,000 pounds and 230,000 pounds, which is $250,000 to $365,000 in America. That’s well out of my price range, but I’m sure some super-fan will be willing to put down the cash for a classic piece of movie geek memorabilia. Would you want this thing hanging out in your house?
