Peter Jackson still intent on making Tintin 2

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn was everything Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull should have been. An action-packed throwback to adventure movies, full of fun and old school daring. The fact that it was CGI may have thrown people off, but this is Spielberg at one of his best, and the original plan to have Peter Jackson, who produced the movie, swap roles with Spielberg for the sequel was exciting. And evidently it still is exciting.

Jackson said at the Desolation of Smaug premiere, ““As soon as I’m free of The Hobbit, I’ll be going back into doing Tintin.” Evidently the delay — the motion capture was supposed to be done after Smaug wrapped is because Jackson decided to turn The Hobbit into three movies instead of just two. That takes more time, meaning Tintin had to fall back. Still, it’s clearly coming we just have to hold on a bit longer.
