Peter Jackson working on Tintin sequel for 2015

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey comes out tomorrow, but Peter Jackson isn’t ready to slow down. He’s already shooting a new movie next year: a sequel to Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin. Jackson served as co-producer on that film, and it appears he and Spielberg are swapping roles for this second adventure of Hergé’s lovable scamp.

What’s most interesting is that Jackson will not wait until post-production is done on The Hobbit to start work on Tintin 2: Tintinner. The director told Bleeding Cool that he would shoot the performance/motion capture next year in order to release the Tintin sequel in 2015. This means Jackson will be putting out one movie a year for the next four years.

No word on when Jackson will block out time in Hobbit post-production to shoot the film, but this should keep him extremely busy. Also no word on the plot of the Tintin sequel. First Showing quotes Spielberg about the sequel: “We have completed a story outline now. We have a writer on it. I’m just not declaring what it is. It will be more than one book, but no more than two.”
