Pixar’s Onward available for purchase digitally later today, hitting Disney+ on April 3

Pixar’s Onward, the “totally not a flop” film about two brothers trying to resurrect their father, will soon be available for purchase on digital platforms. With the coronavirus pandemic shutting theaters down across the globe, Disney likely realized it could recoup some of the film’s budget by putting it up for sale. Onward wasn’t doing too well anyway and now most people can’t even get out to see it.

Onward’s director and producer, Dan Scanlon Kori Rae respectively, made a joint statement saying, “While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes.”

If you’ve got $19.99 burning a hole in your wallet and you just absolutely have to see the film, you’ll be able to do so starting at 8 pm EST/5 pm EST. If you’re a little patient, however, Onward will be heading to Disney+ on April 3, 2020. That’s just two weeks from today, meaning you can save yourself an additional $19.99 if you just hold out!
