By According to a report from Heat Vision, Gerard Butler is in “final negotiations” to join the cast of the upcoming Point Break remake. Butler will be playing the role of criminal / extreme sports athlete Bodhi, formerly portrayed by the late Patrick Swayze.
Currently, the role of FBI agent Johnny Utah — played by Keanu Reeves in the original film — has not been cast, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Keanu Reeves play Utah again. That’d be hilarious.
I’ve never seen Point Break. All I know is there’s an amazing bit where they jump over a fence. Patrick Swayze’s just robbed this bank. Keanu Reeves is chasing him through people’s gardens. And he goes to shoot Swayze, but he can’t, ’cause he loves him so much, and he’s firing his gun up in the air going “AAAAAARGH”
