Prometheus teaser poster has a face monolith

So, the Alien prequel (or not, I dunno still), Prometheus, being directed by Ridley Scott, is shaping up to be a film about things. There’s a face monolith, so there’s that, I guess. I think it’s one of those movies that you really just need to see to get a full sense of it. It seems more or less in line with movies like Event Horizon or Sphere in that it’s a philosophical sci-fi film. At least that’s what I hope, because those particular movies bring up some pretty interesting points about people as a species.

Oh wait, here’s an official synopsis, “Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.” So yeah, it does have to do with that stuff. Yay.

Prometheus comes out June 8, 2012. I’m surprised it’s not some infamous date that’s really ominous, like Friday the 13th or something. Check out the teaser poster after the jump. It’s really, really cool, so don’t not click after the jump. It’s definitely click worthy at the very least.
