PSA – Star Wars: The Force Awakens reviews start hitting the internet December 16th

0

Hey, guys. This is the week that Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out. I know a lot of you have avoided trailers and are trying to go into the movie blind. Even though we’ve been reporting on Force Awakens stuff, I’ve similarly tried to avoid spoiling things for myself too much. (Though the Star Wars marketing thus far has been extremely good about keeping the plot under wraps.)

To help you stay spoiler-free, here’s a word of warning: the first reviews for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will go online Wednesday, December 16th just after midnight PST.

You’ll have at least a day and a half of avoiding the internet if you’re checking out a December 17th screening. Then again, non-press attending premieres aren’t restricted by the embargoes, so expect details and spoilers to start trickling online tonight. Going in blind might be harder if you’re seeing it on Friday or the weekend. (Maybe get frozen in carbonite and get some temporary carbon sickness until Sunday.)

Ultimately, just stay the hell away from the internet starting tonight. Good luck–you’re gonna need it.

Disconnecting from the interwebs won’t be so bad. You can read a book, have a date night, learn to make curry, write the Great American Novel™, learn a trade, do pottery, or maybe volunteer. Heck, it’ll be a great way to get away from the oversaturation of Star Wars marketing hype that our own Nick Valdez wrote about last week.

Our own Matthew Razak will have a review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 16th at 12:01am PST. Keep an eye out for it. And may The Force be with you.
