Ray Wise joins First Class cast, movie to suck slightly less

When I first heard about X-Men: First Class, I was super excited. A reboot of a franchise I felt very betrayed by held all the possibilities in the world! Then they decided to make it a prequel. In the sixties. With the guy from Wanted as Professor Xavier and Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw. Ugh!

With a questionable cast playing questionable characters (Twilight’s Edi Gathegi as Darwin? Zoë Kravitz as Angel Salvadore?), I had a very pessimistic outlook on things until it was announced that Ray Wise (Reaper) has joined the cast. I love Ray Wise and I find that he can help make any movie, no matter how awful, a little better (looking at you, Jeepers Creepers 2). Wise told IGN, “I’m playing the Secretary of State of the United States. I’ll be going over there in the next couple of weeks,” and when asked if he’d be involved in scenes with special effects, added, “Well, I think I touch on them, yeah, a bit.”

I’m now slightly more optimistic about this film. Until Kevin Durrand stars in an X-Men Origins: Blobmovie, Ray Wise will be my highlight of…
