The first trailer for The Night Before, a film that will hopefully be a new holiday classic for adults, is here and its full of what you’d expect from a film with Seth Rogen. There’s plenty of dumb comedy and drug use and cameos from other famous people. It’s got a plot about three guys trying to find the mythical Nutcracka Ball party while hitting up plenty of other holiday traditions. You wouldn’t be mistaken for assuming it was more of the same.
But The Night Before is from Jonathan Levine, the same guy who gave us 50/50 and it reunites Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt while throwing in Anthony Mackie. What’s that mean? It means that if this movie is anything like the emotional wallop that 50/50 was were in for some awesomeness. That film blended comedy and drama fantastically so hopefully this one pulls it out too.
The Night Before releases this November.
