The last trailer for Kick-Ass 2 left me very un-enthused for the film. It just didn’t seem to have the same dark comedic streak that the first one had. With a new director and screenwriter that makes sense, but it just seemed more like a dumb action flick than the clever film the first one was. Now that my expectations have been tempered, however, this second trailer depresses me less.
Seems like they’re going to at least have some solid action through the film so it isn’t all bad, and while Jim Carrey’s character seems to be there just for punchlines they could be good ones. So, yes, in a rare occurrence a second trailer has made me more excited for a film.
